Beaver FAQs
What Do Beavers Eat?
These Herbivours eat wood of course, including the bark and the soft underwood. They also eat aquatic plants, leaves, and woody stems. Their favorite food is also their primary building material, like birch and maple.
Why Do Beavers Build Dams?
The purpose of building a Dam is to create a pond of deeper water where the Beaver builds its "Lodge".
The pond and lodge combination helps to protect the Beaver from Predators.
Beaver Dams create new habitats for young fish to mature while at the same time preventing soil errosion.
If a Beaver creates a Dam in your local pond, stream, creek or river it is a sign of a healthy habitat.
Whats the story with a Beaver Lodge?
The lodge is built as a beaver sanctuary that helps to pretect it from predators.
The lodge can be accessed underwater and have multiple entry points
The lodge will be formed in a dome like fashion, and the beaver will make the living quarters above the waterline
The floor of the living quarters will consist of wood shavings to absorb moisture and a nice place to sleep

If you keep your distant and leave them alone, they in turn will leave you alone.
They can become aggressive, but will generally ignore you if you ignore them
